AAA Estimates 2016 Year-End Record Road Travel

By Evan Metrock on December 16, 2016

The American Automobile Association said this week an estimated 93.6 million people will drive during the holidays, which would make this the busiest holiday travel season on record. The 93.6 million estimate is an increase of 1.5% over last year.

We hope that everyone traveling this holiday season downloads iExit (for iOS or Android), which is free for the entire month of December. For much of 2016, iExit has been a paid app, but it has been made free for the 2016 holiday season.

AAA also predicts that gas prices will be higher on New Year's Day than they were on January 1, 2016, but notes that they are still nearly as cheap as they've been in the last decade. But regardless of national averages, fuel prices can vary greatly from exit to exit. iExit's partnership with OPIS allows travelers to easily discover which upcoming exit can save you the most at the pump.

We wish everyone a wonderful and safe holiday season. As always, you can reach our team directly at feedback@iexitapp.com.
